What do
you think of yourself? Many people have doubts about their own
value and importance. Some are constantly putting themselves
down while others worry about what changes they should make
in themselves. Many people are more concerned with what others
think about them, rather than worrying about what they think
about themselves.
I've found
it almost impossible for these people to be successful. They
become too involved in their own "supposed" hopelessness
and ultimately suffer from overwhelming bouts of self-pity.
All successful
people in this world have a positive self-concept. For you to
become successful a positive self-image is the basic building
block needed throughout your life. No one can appreciate you
more than you!
To paraphrase
Dr. Joyce Brothers, "As individuals, self-concept is the
core of this personality. It affects every aspect of human behavior,
including the ability to learn, the capacity to grow and change,
and the choice of friends, mates and careers you make as you
travel through your life. It's no exaggeration to say that a
strong positive self image is the best possible preparation
for success in life."
To help
you better see yourself, we suggest you develop a list of your
